Trump announced that the US had attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran. It is unclear if any civilians were affected in the region. The US President wrote in a statement on social media at 7:46 PM Eastern Time on June 21 that the US had «successfully completed our very successful attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan. All aircraft are now out of Iranian airspace».
Trump went on to note that «the full bomb load was dropped on the main target, Fordo», - and added that «all aircraft are safely on their way home».
«Congratulations to our great American warriors», - he continued. «There is no other army in the world that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!»
Trump clearly stated on June 17 that the US did not want civilians to be harmed by potential airstrikes. He wrote on Truth Social about the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: «We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but he is safe there — we are not going to kill him, at least not now. But we do not want rockets fired at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is running out».
It is unclear what the next step is for the US, Iran, and Israel. After Trump announced that the American military had conducted airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the president scheduled a national address for June 21 at 10:00 PM Eastern Time
