Shooting at Drake’s house: guard injured, suspect fled

A security guard was injured at Drake’s house in Toronto after a shooting on Tuesday, May 7th. The shooting occurred during a dispute between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Police reported that the suspect fled the scene in a car, while the security guard is currently in the hospital. According to Toronto Police Operations on X (formerly Twitter), there is no description of the suspect.
Police reported that the shooting took place just after 2 am at Drake’s house, known as the «Embassy». An aerial photograph of the house was also used as the cover for Kendrick’s diss track «Not Like Us», according to The Daily Beast. Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact them through a post on X.
Inspector Paul Krawchuk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force spoke at a press conference about the shooting. «When officers arrived, they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. This man was taken to the hospital in serious condition», - he said. «This man apparently worked as a security guard at the house. He was standing outside the gate in front of the house when the shooting occurred».
The inspector said he could not confirm whether Drake was at home during the shooting. He also declined to comment on any alleged motives or whether the rapper’s dispute «If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late» with Kendrick is being considered as part of the investigation.
The shooting occurred after Drake released his latest song in the feud, «The Heart Part 6». In the song, Drake denied the accusations made by rapper Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, stating that false information was provided, including a fake claim about an 11-year-old daughter that Drake had not publicly acknowledged. The song was released after Kendrick’s destructive songs «Meet the Grahams» and «Not Like Us» on Friday and Saturday respectively
