«Today around 10:57 a.m., our officers responded to a call about a shooter at the School of Christian Life Abundance here in Madison», - Barnes told the media. «When officers arrived, they found several victims with gunshot wounds».
Barnes added that this is a «constantly changing situation, so a lot of work needs to be done, and we are committed to doing that work».
Police reported that the suspected shooter, presumably a teenage student, was also dead. According to CNN, at least four people died, and five others were injured in the shooting. Barnes noted that he would not publicly disclose the identities of the victims during the press conference.
«I will not provide any information about who the victims are, whether they are students, staff, or parents, because we need to ensure that we can notify people», - Barnes added.
