Following a recent New Year’s tragedy in the city, the NFL released a statement reassuring fans of safety measures. According to Marca, the NFL stated: «The NFL and the local organizing committee have been working in collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies for the past two years and have developed comprehensive security plans. These plans will continue, as with all major NFL events, and we are confident that visitors will have a safe and enjoyable experience at the Super Bowl».
They added: «We deeply mourn the news of the devastating incident in New Orleans. Our thoughts are with the victims, the New Orleans community, and all those affected».
The game is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM Eastern Time.
Super Bowl LIX will be nationally broadcast on FOX.
Kendrick Lamar will perform at the 2025 halftime show.
The rapper announced the big news in September 2024 through a video on social media. In the clip, Lamar stood on a football field in front of the American flag and told viewers: «What's up, everyone? My name is Kendrick Lamar, and I will be performing at Super Bowl LIX. Will you be there? I hope so. You know, there’s only one chance to win the championship. No second tries».
He later confirmed this by sharing a statement in Variety, noting that rap music is «still the most influential genre today» and that he will perform «to remind the world why»
