Suri Cruise officially became a student! Before starting her first course at the university, the 18-year-old student was spotted moving into the dormitory of Carnegie Mellon University with her mother, Katie Holmes.
According to photos published by Page Six on Monday, August 19, the mother and daughter were seen with large bags and luggage on the campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In one of the pictures, Katie, 45, is seen carrying a large white bag over her shoulder, walking alongside her daughter. Suri, on the other hand, was dragging two suitcases on wheels behind her.
Dressed casually for moving day, Katie was in jeans and a cream white blouse with a collar, while Suri wore loose capri jeans and a loose white blouse. Later they were seen walking around the university town.
According to the university’s academic calendar, orientation for freshmen began on Sunday, August 18, and will last until Friday, August 23. Classes will start in the fall semester on August 26.
Katie and Suri have successfully maintained a private life in New York for the past few years after the actress’s divorce from Tom Cruise in 2012. The former spouses are raising Suri together.
However, Katie has occasionally spoken about watching her daughter grow. During Mother’s Day celebration in May 2021, the star of the movie «The Code» posted a photo of Suri as a baby on Instagram.

Recently, Katie told Town & Country magazine how proud she is of her daughter, although she will miss the closeness they had in New York.
«I am proud of my daughter.
