The Chief of Staff of Donald Trump’s White House, Suzy Wiles, gave an interview to Vanity Fair during his first year in office, and her comments about the cabinet sparked surprise across the country. She quickly criticized the interview as a «biased attack» on herself and the «greatest president» in a statement released after the article came out.

«The article published this morning is a hypocritically crafted attack on me and the greatest president, the White House staff, and the cabinet in history», - Wiles wrote in her tweet on December 16, 2025. «Significant context was ignored, and much of what I and others said about the team and the president was omitted from the article. I assume this was done to create an overly chaotic and negative narrative about the president and our team».

Here are some key points from several conversations Wiles had with Vanity Fair.

Although Trump does not drink alcohol, Wiles described him as having an «alcoholic personality». She compared the president to her father, sports news anchor Pat Summerall, who, she said, struggled with alcoholism.

«Some clinical psychologists who know a million times more than I do will dispute what I’m about to say. But high-functioning alcoholics or alcoholics in general have exaggerated personalities when they drink», - Wiles told the publication. «So I have a bit of insight into big personalities».

Wiles also noted that Trump «acts with the conviction that there is nothing he cannot do. Nothing, zero, nothing».

She couldn’t help but point out that the main «problem» with Elon Musk is that «you have to keep up with him». She then indicated that he is «a known user of ketamine».

«And he sleeps in a sleeping bag in the Executive Office building during the day», - Wiles added. «He's a strange, strange guy, as I think all geniuses are. You know, it doesn’t help, but he is what he is».

In another part of the Vanity Fair piece about Wiles, she talked about how she read the «Epstein file» and acknowledged that, although Trump is mentioned in it, he «did nothing terrible». Wiles also described the president and Jeffrey Epstein as «young, single playboys» who spent time together.

In another part of the article, Wiles characterized Trump’s vice president, J.D. Vance, as a «conspiracy theorist», - whose journey from Trump opponent to active supporter was «a bit more political»
