Wedding bells and flower petals are falling down, John Malani and Olivia Mann have officially become a married couple, People magazine reports.
The 44-year-old actress and 41-year-old actor began a romantic relationship in 2021. After confirming their status as a couple, they welcomed their son Malcolm later that same year. Their relationship has recently been through a lot, especially after the actress from the movie «X-Men: Apocalypse» revealed in March that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
«In February 2023, seeking to be proactive about my health, I took a genetic test that checks you for 90 different cancer genes… Two months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer… In the last ten months, I have had four surgeries, spent so many days in bed that I can’t even count… amazingly, I only cried twice. I tried to let people see me when I had energy, when I could dress up and leave the house, when I could take my little one to the park. I kept the diagnosis, worry, recovery, pain medications, and paper gowns a secret», - she wrote in her statement.
During an interview in May for Vogue, the SNL alum shared, «Olivia and I have been through a lot in the past couple of years… Just being there, supporting each other through everything. And as her partner, I felt both scared and protective. Even with Malcolm on her lap and me holding her hand, she was going to physically fight this disease alone».
Although they are facing this health battle, it has not stopped them from celebrating their love. An insider told People that the two had an intimate wedding in New York, attended only by their son and an unknown witness.
Their special day came shortly after Olivia’s 44th birthday on July 3, which she shared in a post on Instagram, where her son says, «Happy birthday, mommy», - making her surprised, and then responds to her mother, «I love you so much». She captioned her birthday post, «what a year… Thank you for all the birthday wishes!!!»
