Rhee Drummond’s son, Jamaar Goff, was arrested following an alleged assault on a police officer. According to online court records, the 23-year-old Goff was taken into custody at the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, on September 15 around 2:30 a.m. local time.
Goff faces four charges, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and attempting to flee from law enforcement. His bail is set at $ 37,000, and he remains in custody at the time of publication. It is unclear whether he has legal representation. Us Magazine reached out to Rhee’s team for comments.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the police officer received a call about a suspicious person on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The officer stated that he found Goff sleeping by a fountain without a shirt. When awakened, he allegedly said he was waiting for someone to sell him «ice», - which, according to the court, is another term for methamphetamine.
After the officer learned that there was a warrant for Goff’s arrest, the 23-year-old reportedly attempted to flee and ultimately ended up in a local hospital, where he allegedly struck the officer with an open hand.
Rhee Drummond and her husband Ladd became Goff’s foster parents in 2018 when he was a teenager. While it is unclear what their relationship with Goff is like now, she previously celebrated his birthday with a heartfelt social media post. In October 2023, Rhee wrote on Instagram: «Today is October 7, also known as Jamaar’s birthday, and I hope these photos give you a little glimpse into his personality and presence».
