Direction and production may seem simple enough on paper, but in reality, they are often complex. A director must maintain a unified visual style for a specific brand, which may include, but is not limited to, campaigns and projects involving films and photographs for advertising materials, brand consistency, marketing, and so on.

These efforts are definitely not an easy task and require a keen eye for detail, as well as a level of precision and familiarity with the spirit of the brand that few possess, and even fewer master. Creative director and producer Sarah Rados is one of these talented few who has led materials for major brands such as Sephora, Salt and Stone, Ariana Grande, and Target for over eight years.

Rados' creative work began at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in design. During her university studies, Rados was honored with the Art Directors Award for the best portfolio. She says she was «chosen from the entire advertising class as the winner with the most promising portfolio».

«I wanted to dedicate myself to a career in the creative field, from traditional advertising to creative leadership with brands», - added Rados.

Rados has indeed worked hard and achieved many of her ambitions. This is evident in her leadership of a photoshoot for the beauty brand Salt and Stone at Sephora Canada. The photos from this shoot appeared on the Sephora website and were printed as displays for Sephora stores, an impressive statement of Rados' skills and understanding of the brand.

Rados' expertise is not limited to tasks typically assigned to traditional creative directors. She says, «As a multi-hyphenate creative director, I am in a unique position to take on more roles beyond the traditional title of creative director. My experience has ranged from high-level creative leadership to producing, styling, casting, interior design, prop styling, social media management, client relationships, and copywriting. I have even been a hand model in some of my beauty shoots!»

It seems that Rados not only does not worry about these additional challenges, but chooses to embrace them head-on in an attempt to become a fully realized and well-rounded creative director. She explains, «Throughout my career, I have rarely turned down an opportunity to learn a new job or skill, even if at the time it seemed like a deviation from my goal of being a 'creative director'».

«I believe that experience in every production role is part of the great journey of a creative director», - continues Rados. «The ability to truly understand and empathize with the roles and unique challenges of each puts me in a position to lead a more harmonious production and create a more harmonious creative environment».

Direction and production involve ensuring that every component of every subset of work involved in a project is done correctly, and such confidence comes only with determination and unwavering self-assurance in oneself and one’s team. Sarah Rados' creative direction embodies these qualities, and she is only just getting started
