Tarek El Moussa openly talks about aging and cosmetic procedures.
Reflecting on his 43rd birthday, which fell on August 21, the star of the show «Flipping El Moussas» opened up about how he helps himself maintain a more youthful appearance in an Instagram post published on Tuesday, August 28.
«Oh my God, I still can’t believe I’m 43!!! Huge thanks to whoever created Botox! 🤣🤣🤣», - he began in the caption, before talking about his birthday weekend in Tampa, Florida, which he spent with his wife Heather El Moussa. «The trip was the perfect mix of business and pleasure — just what we needed! From sunny adventures to unforgettable moments, it was a birthday to remember».
He then concluded the post, thanking his followers for «all the amazing birthday wishes», - adding: «I appreciate all of you ❤️».
In February 2024, Tarek, who is raising children Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 9, with his ex-wife Christina Haack, as well as 18-month-old son Tristan with Heather, delved deep into his past struggles, including steroid addiction, in his candid memoir «Flip Your Life».
In the book, he reveals how he endured a series of painful events in a row, including a diagnosis of thyroid cancer in 2013, followed by a diagnosis of testicular cancer.
«I had back surgery, and I dropped from 230 pounds to 168 pounds. So I had cancer, and then I got hit with a second cancer. And four months after I recovered from the second cancer, I hurt my back. I lost 60 pounds. I was taking Vicodin every day, my hormones were messed up, I was taking painkillers and drugs, and still filming and working. It was a wild experience», - he shared with Dr. Drew Pinsky on the Dr. Drew Pinsky podcast in 2018.
Thanks to several surgeries and radioactive iodine therapy, the HGTV star was able to beat both cancers. Earlier this year, Tarek shared that he goes to the gym «almost every day» since starting his journey to health.
«I was overweight, chain-smoking, and an alcoholic who was always stressed!» he recalled in a May Instagram post. «No matter how tired or worn out or drained you are. We can all get back to feeling like we are in the best shape of our lives!»
