UCLA quarterback Ty DiVenbach has become the center of attention after a TikTok video featuring him and JoJo Siwa resurfaced on social media. The video, originally posted by Siwa in July 2020, shows the pair participating in a dance trend to Doja Cat’s «Say So».
The clip gained popularity after DiVenbach, 21, stepped in for injured UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson during the game against Oregon on September 10. In the comments of the video, users joke that UCLA’s hopes now rest on DiVenbach.
DiVenbach, a graduate of Agoura Hills High School in California, had a successful outing, completing three passes for 43 yards and throwing one touchdown, which helped UCLA secure a 17−15 victory and improve the team’s record to 5−0 for the season. UCLA head coach Bob Chesney noted that DiVenbach stepped up in a challenging situation when Thompson-Robinson had to leave the field due to a knee injury, and he is now expected to be the starting quarterback in the next game against Wisconsin on October 17.
