Tyquan Thornton could return to action in 12−16 weeks
The Kansas City Chiefs received encouraging news about the condition of receiver Tyquan Thornton following his left ankle injury sustained in the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on October 4. According to NFL Network, Thornton, 26, is expected to return to the field in 12 to 16 weeks.

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of the game when Thornton caught a 55-yard pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and was taken down by Raiders defender Trayvon Stukes. He was subsequently evacuated from the field and left the stadium on crutches. Surgery on his ankle is scheduled for the coming days, and the Chiefs hope he can return by the end of the season or in the playoffs.

After the game, Thornton shared messages on social media, expressing support for the team and confidence in his recovery. His posts received support from teammates, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, who acknowledged his contribution to the team’s 30−27 victory.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid noted that Thornton’s injury appears serious but emphasized his positive attitude and leadership qualities within the team. The Chiefs are currently on a bye week and will return to play on October 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
