Tyler Perry has become the subject of sexual assault allegations from a second individual—actor and model named Mario Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who appeared in Perry’s film «Horror! Halloween Maddy», - filed a lawsuit for $ 77 million against Perry at the end of December 2025.
In an Instagram video posted on December 13, 2025, Rodriguez stated that he feels «scared and ashamed» for deciding to speak out against one of Hollywood’s most successful directors, although he did not name Perry. He explained that he had refrained from publicly discussing his allegations earlier due to how «powerful» this director is.
«I have been silent for too long», - Rodriguez noted in the video. «And I just want to say that I’m really sorry, man. Because if I had spoken up earlier, I might have saved someone who probably went through this after me… I just want to say sorry for that, whoever it was. It could have stopped with me if I had said something… But I’m speaking now».
Rodriguez is a model and actor. As seen on his Instagram page, he is also a passionate fitness expert.
According to Rodriguez’s IMDb profile, he appeared in nine episodes of the series «Family Business». As mentioned, Rodriguez had a small role in Perry’s film «Horror! Halloween Maddy», - where he played a character named Frat Guy #10.
According to court documents obtained by several publications, Rodriguez claims he met with Perry in 2015 to discuss a potential role in the series «The Oval». Later that same evening, Perry allegedly made an unwanted sexual advance towards Rodriguez when they visited the home of the star of «Don't Look Up».
According to the court documents, Perry allegedly «put his hand down Mr. Rodriguez’s underwear» and «continued to grab his genitals» without Rodriguez’s consent. Rodriguez also claims that after he managed to break free from Perry, the director apologized and paid him $ 5,000.
Rodriguez’s lawsuit also alleges that Perry made additional unwanted sexual advances, referencing an alleged incident in 2019 when Perry supposedly took Rodriguez’s hand, placed it on his private parts, and said, «If you would just be with me, I would take care of you, and you wouldn’t have to worry about anything». After Rodriguez rejected this advance, according to the lawsuit, the director again paid him $ 5,000.
In response to Rodriguez’s lawsuit, Perry’s attorney Alex Spiro released a statement rejecting the allegations, calling the situation «an attempt to make money», - according to information from People magazine.
Rodriguez’s allegations and lawsuit emerged months after another individual named Derek Dixon accused Perry of sexual assault. Dixon, who appeared in the series «The Oval», - demanded $ 260 million.
