Taylor Swift and Post Malone became the leaders of the 2024 MTV VMA, winning 12 and 11 nominations respectively

At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, Taylor Swift led with 12 nominations, closely followed by her co-songwriter on «Fortnight», - Post Malone, who had 11 nominations. In the end, both became the main winners. Swift took home seven awards, while Post won five, including the evening’s main award when «Fortnight» was named Video of the Year.

At the 2024 VMAs ceremony, there were 29 rookie nominees, many of whom received multiple nominations, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, Tayla, Chappell Roan, Jelly Roll, Sexy Red, Victoria Monet, Jessie Murph, and Rauw Alejandro. Other notable artists receiving their first nominations included Morgan Wallen, Burna Boy, Coco Jones, Gracie Abrams, Ganna, Playboi Carti, Ray, and Tyler Childers.
