The USA team won the Olympics in Paris in 2024, with several athletes standing on the winners' podium.

Last weekend, the whole world saw Olympic athletes such as Simone Biles, Steven Nederoscik, Katie Ledecky, and others in various sports, earning up to 18 medals just on Saturday, helping the country maintain the highest number of medals.

Several players took home gold, but the showstopper was Olympian Noah Lyles, who competed in the men’s 100-meter race and raced to victory in just 9.79 seconds. The 27-year-old athlete started the race at a disadvantage, starting behind several runners. Following the gold medalists was swimmer Katie Ledecky, who swam to her fourth gold victory in the women’s 800-meter freestyle. Also among the best was the most decorated gymnast in US history, Simone Biles, who impressed with her daring gymnastic moves, earning a gold medal with a score of 15.300 in her performance.

2024 could be a year of redemption for Sha’Carri Richardson, who won silver in the 100-meter race. At the 2021 Tokyo Games, the 24-year-old runner was unable to compete due to a positive doping test. Despite this setback, she returned to the Olympics, saying, «I didn’t come back, I came back better». Alongside Richardson, American Kate Douglas took second place in the 200-meter individual medley.

American Clark Kent, Steven Nederoscik, won bronze, impressing the country with his performance on the pommel horse. This triumph was the 25-year-old athlete’s first Olympic victory. He said in a post-interview, «As I climbed onto the pommel horse, the last competitor of the entire competition, I felt that our team was in great shape. I just knew I needed to rise and do my job». Jade Carey also won bronze, flipping herself to third place with a score of 14.4666 in the vault round.

The USA still has a chance to bring home more medals until August 11th
