The body of Presley Gerber was released after the completion of the forensic examination. According to information available to Us Weekly, the cause of death is currently listed as «deferred», - and there is no information on when official results will be published. At this time, there are no suspicions of foul play.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed that additional testing is required to make a final determination on the cause of death. In a statement made on Monday, September 21, it was noted that «the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department is in the early stages of investigating the death of 27-year-old model Presley Gerber, and currently, limited information is available». It was also reported that «due to the ongoing investigation, the cause and manner of death have been deferred, meaning that additional testing and/or studies have been requested».
Presley Gerber was pronounced dead at 9:45 AM local time on Monday, September 20, by arriving paramedics. The investigation is being conducted by the Santa Monica Police Department in California.
Before his death, Presley openly spoke about his mental health struggles and addictions. In a podcast interview in 2023, he explained why he wanted to share parts of his story. He stated, «If I help one person or a hundred people get out of the place I used to be, that’s enough».
Presley’s family, including his sister Kaia Gerber, supported him during difficult times. Kaia noted that their parents had been very private for a long time, but Presley became «an absolute teacher», - openly sharing his experiences.
