Teresa Nist expresses her opinion on the sudden breakup with Jerry Turner. The 70-year-old star of the first season of «The Bachelor» turned to fans on Instagram to write a long note in response to their reactions, some of which, as she noted, are «confused and angry» about their divorce.
«To all who have expressed love, support, and kindness to me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all such wonderful people», - wrote the ABC personality. «It means a lot to me that you took the time to reach out to me, whether in person, by phone, by message, or through direct messages. You are all so kind. For those who are confused and angry and do not understand, please try to find the strength to understand and show a little kindness. Not only to me, but to the whole world and to everyone you meet».
Teresa then described her relationship with Jerry as «one of the most incredible events in my life, something I never expected to happen at this stage of my life, and I really thought it would last forever».
«It turns out, even at the age of 70, you don’t know everything», - she continued. «Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. I take a lot of positives from this experience, first and foremost, incredible friends, whom I now have among all these amazing women and among Angie and Jenny, Peyton and Charlie, producers, crew, and many of you. I ask you to remain open to all experiences, opportunities, and love that may come your way. Smile, laugh… I will. I love you all».
Teresa’s post also included a screenshot of the famous quote from Dr. Seuss, which read: «Don't cry because it’s over, smile because it happened». Her note came less than a week after she and Jerry announced their divorce just three months after their marriage. The former couple got married in January during a television ceremony.
«Teresa and I have had several serious conversations and carefully looked at our situation, our place of residence, etc., and we have come to the mutual conclusion that it is probably time for us to part ways», - explained Jerry next to Teresa during their appearance on «Good Morning America» on April 12. They cited the reason for their breakup as distance and different places of residence
