The widow of Chadwick Boseman, Taylor Simone Ledward, has responded to a lawsuit filed by the late actor’s brothers, who are seeking her removal from managing his estate. In new court documents obtained by Us, Ledward described the lawsuit as a «publicity stunt aimed at discrediting her in the tabloids».

Ledward denied the allegations that she failed to comply with court orders regarding the distribution of Chadwick’s remaining assets. She claims that she not only adhered to the court’s directives but also demonstrated great generosity towards the Boseman family members. Ledward’s attorney, Adam Streisand, noted in the documents that «Simone not only complied with the order but, through her exceptional generosity, exceeded all requirements».

Chadwick’s brothers, Derrick and Kevin, filed the lawsuit earlier this month, demanding that Ledward be removed from managing the estate six years after the actor’s death. In their statement, they claim that Ledward continues to control the estate without the involvement of their parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman. They are asking the court to compel Ledward to provide an accounting of the asset distribution and to remove her as administrator.

The lawsuit also states that Ledward is entitled to 50% of Chadwick’s assets, as the actor died intestate, while his parents are to receive 25% of the estate. The brothers assert that nearly four years later, Ledward has not complied with the court’s order for the final distribution of assets.

In their statement, Kevin and Derrick indicated that they filed the lawsuit on behalf of their parents, who have long sought clarity on matters related to Chadwick’s estate, including his intellectual property and legacy. They expressed hope that the process will ensure transparency and respect for the court’s decisions.

Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after a battle with colorectal cancer.
