Taylor Swift announced the release of a new single titled «Patient Zero», - which will be available on September 25. The singer shared this information on September 22, posting a photo against a concrete wall and adding that the single can be pre-ordered on her website for 24 hours.
Following the announcement, fans began actively discussing potential connections between the new single and her previous works. One fan suggested that it could be a «dark and scary hard rock album», - in contrast to her previous album «The Life of a Showgirl». Others noted that the background on the single’s cover resembles the backdrop where Travis Kelce posed, which sparked further speculation.
Some fans also expressed the opinion that «Patient Zero» could mark Swift’s directorial debut, considering her experience with the short film «All Too Well: The Short Film» in 2021. Meanwhile, other social media users recalled that the Los Angeles Times had previously referred to her as the «patient zero of emotional contagion» in the context of her relationship with Kelce.
Before the single’s announcement, fans were actively discussing the possibility of a re-release of her debut album, based on hints provided in a pre-recorded video shown at the 2026 Emmys.
