Taylor Swift prepared several surprises for her fans at the final night of the European leg of her Eras tour.
On Tuesday, Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine joined Swift on stage for the debut performance of their collaborative song «Florida!!!», which is featured on Swift’s latest album «The Tortured Poets Department».
But the surprises didn’t end there.
Audiences were treated to a special performance with Jack Antonov, as he and Swift performed a mash-up together. Additionally, Swift performed live for the first time the song «So Long, London» since the start of the Eras tour in March 2023.
For the live debut of «Florida!!!», Welch joined Swift on stage, singing the chorus — «Tell me it’s unforgivable/ What a crash, what a thrill/ Florida, you’re insane!» — in front of over 90,000 excited fans.
The 37-year-old singer of «Dog Days Are Over» co-wrote the song «Florida!!!» with Swift, and since its release on April 19, the album «The Tortured Poets Department» has held the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for most of the year.
«Thank you, Taylor», - Welch wrote on Instagram Stories early Wednesday morning.
After the first surprise duet, 40-year-old Antonov joined 34-year-old Swift for a mash-up of the songs «Death By a Thousand Cuts» from the album «Lover» and «Getaway Car» from «Reputation».
«I've been thinking a lot about why I’ve been so lucky to be on the Eras tour, and it’s because I’ve been fortunate enough to find friends over the years who have been incredibly collaborative and creative», - Swift told the crowd, introducing her friend and producer. «I get to make music with one of my best friends in the world, and he’s here tonight».
She added that the songs they performed were some of their «favorites that we’ve made together».
Swift then switched from guitar to piano and performed «So Long, London» for the first time, a song widely believed to be about the end of her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn, whom she split from last year.
«You know, we’ve done a lot of shows on this tour, so it’s pretty rare to have a song that I’ve never performed live before», - she said before the performance. «And here we are».
The lyrics include: «I left everything I knew, you left me in the house on Hit/ I stopped the resuscitation, because it’s useless/ The spirit is gone, we’ll never go back/ And I’m sorry that you let me give you all this youth for free».
Swift will return to the US in October for performances in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver
