Tiffany Haddish is trying to find humor in her recent legal situation near Beverly Hills. After her arrest for driving under the influence on Thanksgiving, the comedian shared her experience behind bars.
«I'll tell you right now, if I ever commit a crime in my life, if I decide to do it, I will only do it in Beverly Hills», - said 44-year-old Tiffany on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, June 12. «Sorry, Beverly Hills. I have to say. The most beautiful police station I’ve ever been in my life».
«They put me in the cell and I said, 'This is nice. Look at this. The toilet is all clean. Water from the tap — sparkling water. Let’s go,'» continued the comedian. «The police are so respectful».
Tiffany — who joked that the toilet paper was made of organic rice paper — also discovered a «call button» in her cell that she could use if she needed help. The actress used this feature when she needed hygiene products.
«They brought me the biggest pad I’ve ever seen in my life», - said Tiffany. «So comfortable, so fluffy».
In November 2023, the «Girls Trip» actress was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after performing at The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood at the 43rd annual free society charity dinner.
In her latest interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Tiffany said she had a busy schedule before the police arrested her. After celebrating the holiday with her family, Tiffany received a call from one of her «rich friends» who had no food. As a result, she tried to bring them leftovers.
«I learned a valuable lesson. I should have sent it in an Uber or had someone else take it there», - she explained. «But I wanted to take it myself because I felt there was an opportunity to talk business, so I went in and had a drink and was very sleepy».
Tiffany was charged with two misdemeanors, but she accepted a plea deal in February, resulting in the charges being dropped. She pleaded not guilty to the charge of «wet reckless» (reckless driving under the influence).
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Us Weekly that Tiffany was placed on one year of probation and ordered to take a driving course. She was also assigned 40 hours of community service and had to pay a fine
