TikTok is coming back: when will the app be available in the App Store?

TikTok is back, but not in the App Store. Since the official ban on the app in the United States, starting on Sunday, January 19, 2025, no one could download or reload the app on their phones. However, active TikTok users still have their accounts. The app temporarily shut down right before the ban took effect. And now, as it is restored for users, many want to know when it will be added back to the App Store.

For several hours, TikTok users in America encountered the following message when the app was banned: «Sorry, TikTok is currently unavailable. A law was passed in the US banning TikTok. Unfortunately, this means you cannot use TikTok at this time. We are pleased that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on resolving the issue of restoring TikTok after taking office. Please stay tuned! In the meantime, you can still log in to download your data».

According to our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will not be punished for providing TikTok to more than 170 million Americans and enabling over 7 million small businesses to thrive. This is a strong stance in defense of the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that will keep TikTok in the United States.
