Tim Walz officially accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for Vice President. During the third evening of the 2024 DNC on Wednesday, August 21, the 60-year-old politician addressed a large crowd in Chicago to discuss his experiences as a teacher, coach, governor, and father of his children, Gus and Hope, whom he shares with his wife Gwen Whipple.

«This is the honor of my life to accept your nomination for Vice President of the United States», - he began. Emphasizing his dedication to serving as Vice President, Tim addressed his family, who supported him in the crowd. «Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you are my whole world, and I love you», - Tim added. Gus and Hope shed a few tears together during this emotional moment.

Throughout his speech, former Minnesota governor described what he learned as a former social studies teacher and sports coach, acknowledging that he had not «made many big speeches like this», - but he had «made many encouraging talks» with teams.

«So, let me finish this, team», - Tim said, comparing the elections to a football game. «It's the fourth quarter. We’re down by one field. But we’re on the attack, and we have the ball. We’re moving forward down the field. And, God, we have the right team».

He then praised Vice President Kamala Harris during her fight for the White House and motivated the crowd to help her win the elections.

«Kamala Harris is strong. Kamala Harris is experienced. And Kamala Harris is ready», - the veteran continued. «Our task, our task, our task, our task for everyone watching, is to step up and block and push. Inch by inch. Yard by yard. Call by call. Knock by knock. Donation by $ 5 donation».

Elsewhere in his speech, Tim took a few shots at Republican candidate Donald Trump. Comparing his former presidency to a «student council president», - the Democrat noted: «And you know what? Those teenagers could teach Donald Trump a lot about what a leader is».

«Leaders don’t spend all day insulting people and blaming others. Leaders do the work», - he concluded. «So, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to turn the page on these guys»
