Don’t expect to see Tom Brady on a roast stage anytime soon! The former football player, 46, admitted that participating in a roast was «bitter» for him because his children reacted negatively to Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time during an interview on The Pivot Podcast on Tuesday, May 14. He acknowledged that he probably wouldn’t participate in another roast if given the opportunity.
The former quarterback was asked about the most important lesson he learned from participating in the roast, and he said he didn’t like how it affected his children. «I didn’t like how it affected my kids», - he said. «[There's] a bitter side when you do something, thinking it will be different, and then suddenly realize: 'I wouldn’t do this again, because of how it affected the people I love the most in the world'».
Despite the negative emotions the roast evoked in his children, Tom admitted that he saw it as a lesson to «become a better parent in the future». He also explained that sometimes parents can be a little «naive», - so the roast was a «good lesson».
The former Buccaneers quarterback admitted that he was a fan of the «roast general» Jeff Ross, which made him want to participate in the roast, but he explained that he didn’t «see the full picture» regarding roasts. However, he said he had some positive impressions when jokes were made about him at the roast. «I really enjoyed it when they made fun of me, I thought it was so much fun», - he said on the podcast.
During Tom’s roast, the Super Bowl winner was subjected to tons of funny jokes. Despite taking it with humor, a source close to his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen reportedly said she was offended by the jokes, according to a report from People. The insider said the model was «deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on the Sunday night roast show» and that their children «suffered from the irresponsible content that was shown»
