Gisele Bündchen announced her pregnancy with her current boyfriend Joaquim Valente, which came as a surprise to her ex-husband Tom Brady. According to a friend of Brady, he was «shocked» by the news that she is expecting about two years after their divorce.

The post contained lines about love and change, which, according to those close to Brady, could have been a hint at his feelings following the divorce.
Just over a month after the birth of the child, Brady indirectly referenced his ex-wife on social media again, posting a photo of himself throwing a ball at the UCLA training facility, captioned «True Love». This expression, as noted by Brady biographer Lars Anderson, was often used by Bündchen to describe his relationship with football.
Anderson also pointed out that one cannot tell Brady’s story without mentioning Bündchen, as she had a significant impact on his life.
