Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood’s most successful actors, will become the face of several new films on HBO Max in September 2026. This month, the streaming service will add several films featuring the four-time Oscar nominee, including three lesser-known but interesting works of the actor.
One of these films is «American Made» (2017), based on true events. In this crime drama, Cruise plays Barry Seal, a commercial pilot who works for the CIA while simultaneously smuggling drugs. His life begins to change when his reckless actions attract the attention of the FBI, putting him in a dangerous situation that threatens his life and the lives of his family.
Another film is «The Outsiders» (1983), based on the novel by S.E. Hinton. In it, Cruise plays a supporting character in a story about teenagers facing conflicts between the poor and the rich. The film, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, initially did not meet high expectations but has since become a cult classic.
Also on the list is «The Firm» (1993), where Cruise plays a young lawyer who becomes embroiled in the criminal schemes of his firm. This film marked the beginning of the popularity of adaptations of John Grisham’s works and was highly praised for its screenplay and performances.
Thus, HBO Max offers viewers the opportunity to revisit these lesser-known but significant films featuring Tom Cruise, showcasing his acting abilities in diverse roles.
