Tragedy in New York: well-known Spanish businessman Agustín Escobar has died

Agustin Escobar was a father, husband, and successful leader of a technological company. A late businessman who was previously the head of Siemens in Spain, he died in a helicopter crash in April 2025 in New York.

Escobar was a father, husband, and senior executive at Siemens, a German company headquartered in Munich, Germany. According to many sources, Escobar and his family were from Spain.
Escobar was the CEO of railway infrastructure at Siemens Mobility division.
Escobar’s net income is unknown, but Siemens reported billions of dollars in revenue. For the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2024, Siemens reported a cash flow of 9.5 billion euros, which is over 10 billion dollars.

Thomas in a statement, according to the 2024 press release. «In addition, we adhere to our path of strict capital allocation, using our strong balance sheet as the basis for continuing our targeted investments in profitable growth, providing attractive returns to our company’s owners. Our shareholders will benefit from the proposed increase in dividends to 5.20 euros and a corresponding dividend yield of 2.9 percent».
Escobar died in April 2025 after the helicopter he, his wife, and three children were in crashed into the Hudson River. The New York City Police found the remains of the Escobar family after the tragedy.
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulpo shared more detailed information about Escobar’s helicopter crash in a statement. In his tweet, Fulpo noted that he was sharing the information because «life moves fast, and we don’t always think about how unpredictable and extremely fragile it is».
