After reports of Wektor’s death surfaced, his former fiancée Tessa Farrell made an emotional video on TikTok, addressing the person who shot Wektor: «I'm sorry, but you shot the wrong guy». She then recounted how the alleged killer of Wektor had tried to steal the catalytic converter from his car.
«I know the job market is tough, but we’re all in this together», - she continued. «You shouldn’t steal — especially take someone’s life because of it. Human life is too easily disregarded».
Tessa also asked her social media followers to «make changes together as a community» and to «support each other», - concluding: «Maybe this is Johnny’s gift to us, maybe he’s giving it to all of us».
Wektor grew up in Summerville, South Carolina, and studied at the College of Charleston.
The late actor began his career in various short films from 2010 to 2022. Additionally, he appeared in several TV shows, including «Hollywood Girl», - «Siberia», - and «World of the Wild West». However, his most famous role was in «General Hospital» as Brando Corbin.
On May 25, 2024, Wektor encountered three men attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car around 3:00 am near Pico Street and Hope Street in Los Angeles. Trying to stop them from stealing the car part, one of them shot Wektor, and he died by the time he was taken to the nearest hospital.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Wektor’s brother Grant told the publication that he initially thought his car was being towed.
«We're born and raised southerners, and we would never let a woman go to her car alone», - he explained. «[Johnny] stumbled upon them and thought his truck was being towed. So he said something to the guys like, 'Hey, are you towing?' And when he turned around, he saw what was happening and put his colleague behind him. And that’s when they shot him».
