Throughout his career in the minor and major leagues, Blanco played as a first and third baseman, as well as in center field.
Blanco began his baseball career in the minor leagues. In the early 2000s, he played third base in the Boston Red Sox farm system. In 2005, he made his MLB debut with the Nationals. He then continued his baseball career with various teams, including Double-A Tulsa Drillers in the Colorado Rockies organization. He last played from 2015 to 2016 with the Orix Buffaloes.
