Last week, Ana Orsini, a news anchor from Tucson, Arizona, on the channel KOLD 13 News, suddenly passed away. She was only 28 years old. Her colleagues tearfully announced her death on live television and on social media.

KOLD TV remembered their late colleague for her «boundless empathy, always standing up for the 'little guy'», - the news channel wrote in their farewell message.

«[Ana] was a smiling face, especially for all of her new and young colleagues, and she is remembered in all the newsrooms where she worked for taking them under her wing and being a strong mentor both in work and in life», - the farewell message read. «Rescuing animals was her passion, and if she wasn’t celebrating Pet Day on Fridays, she was trying to find a new home for a cute creature in need. If Ana found out you loved true crime like she did, she would share a calendar tracking the releases of all the best podcasts. Her favorite was 'True Crime Obsessed,' and if you spent more than 5 minutes with Ana without hearing her favorite quote from it, 'Let women do the work,' something was seriously wrong! She loved peanut butter M&M's, wore platform Uggs, and was always a ray of sunshine, even at 4:00 in the morning».

We remember Orsini and her work as a news anchor here.

According to her biography on K13, Orsini was from Denver, Colorado. She first studied at the University of Arizona, then transferred to Texas A&M University. She earned a degree in journalism, as well as double minors in communication and sports management.

As her fellow anchors shared, Orsini had been working with them since mid-2023.

KOLD 13 News confirmed that Orsini passed away from a brain aneurysm.

«Ana had been with 13 News since June 2023, and we are shocked by her unexpected passing», - the news channel said in a statement. «She passed away last week from a brain aneurysm».

A brain aneurysm is a «bulging or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain», - according to the Mayo Clinic. This occurs because blood flowing through the vessel puts pressure on a «weak spot in the vessel wall», - which can lead to the aneurysm expanding. If it ruptures, the aneurysm can cause bleeding in the brain, also known as a hemorrhagic stroke
