Travis Kelce found himself in the spotlight during the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity event on Saturday, June 1st. Participating in a comedy sketch with Jason Sudeikis, the tight end, 34, was asked when he would make Taylor Swift a «honest woman», - 34. Fortunately, Travis made a joke about it and delivered his own line according to the script.
The sketch was modeled after the famous «super fans» sketch from Saturday Night Live, featuring George Wendt, where they famously talk about «Da Bears». George, 75, also appeared in the show, but in the middle of the sketch, Jason, 48, started pressing Travis about marrying his pop star girlfriend. «Hey, Travis, seriously, okay? It’s just us guys here. When are you going to make her an honest woman?» he asked to applause from the crowd.
Travis smiled and laughed, and Jason continued, joking about Harrison Butker’s scandalous graduation speech. «Listen, Taylor shouldn’t have to work anymore, and I know your kicker agrees with me», - he said.
Laughing, Travis replied. He simply said, «Guys, you’re really pushing it».
Earlier in the sketch, Jason and George joked, asking Travis if the singer of «Shake It Off» would «pick up the tab», - and joked about the cost of tickets to her concerts. He replied that it «won't happen», - laughing.
Although he found himself in the spotlight, Travis always seemed to have a good sense of humor about his relationships and isn’t afraid to poke fun at himself. In May, the Chiefs player was booed when he attended an NBA playoff game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves in Texas. He seemed unfazed by the crowd’s negative reaction. «It's all good. I get it. I’m not from Dallas. I’m just an innocent bystander», - he said on his podcast New Heights. «Pat slapped me, and I thought, 'Oh, crap! They’re showing me on the big screen.' And then I heard the booing and thought, 'Oh, crap! I’m getting booed. Cool. Thanks. Nice to see you, Dallas guys. Appreciate the warm welcome.'»
