However, this was not the only unfounded rumor circulating about Travis and Kayla. Earlier this year, Travis appeared on «The Pivot Podcast», - where he confirmed his single status. The athlete also responded to a «cheap» report from Barstool Sports, claiming that he did not pay half of their bills when they were together.
«Don't believe this crap», - Travis said in his podcast appearance. «I would never say that I supported her. She had a very financially stable life and what she was doing in her career. But you’d have to be crazy to think I never helped or gave her a couple thousand to buy food, or she gave me money to go get food… We were in a relationship for five years. One hundred dollars here, one hundred dollars there was not even discussed».
Even Kayla refuted the report, writing on X (formerly Twitter): «Not sure where you got this nonsense, but it’s absurd and very false».
When they were together, Kayla shared how they first met, according to a screenshot from her Instagram Stories obtained by TMZ.
«He followed me and insta-flirted for a few months», - she said in a now-deleted Instagram Story captured by TMZ. «All double taps and no DMs. So after a little liquid courage and advice from @iqueenb ('What are you waiting for') I messaged him on New Year’s», - Kayla explained.
Travis confirmed his then-girlfriend's words about how they met in his 2022 interview with E! News.
«I didn’t just go through every photo and start 'liking' her right away», - noted the Chiefs team member. «It was over the course of a month, just following her and 'liking' the photos she posted, and watching all her Stories when Stories first started coming out. I just kept bumping into her, and finally, on New Year’s, she caved. And, you know, New Year, new me. She just shot her shot, slid into my DMs, and the rest is history».
Kayla has not publicly discussed her ex’s new romances with Taylor Swift, but her open letter to black women has garnered attention from fans.
