Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after a fight with his own security guard, French authorities reported.
The prosecutor’s office stated that the police were called to the five-star hotel early Friday morning to arrest the 33-year-old rapper for «unspecified violence» against the security guard.
«I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, shortly before 5 a.m., the police were called to the Hotel George V and arrested a man known as Travis Scott for attacking the security guard», - the statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office said. «The latter intervened to separate the rapper and his security guard. The investigation has been entrusted to the 1st district criminal division at the request of the Paris prosecutor’s office».
A representative for the artist «FE!N» stated: «We are in direct contact with local Parisian authorities for the prompt resolution of this issue and will provide updates as necessary».
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was in the French capital for the Olympic Games and had previously been photographed at the USA basketball team’s match against Serbia on Thursday evening.
Sources close to Scott told PEOPLE that the rapper is expected to be released soon, adding that no injuries were reported and no charges have been filed against him.
