A janitor, Jason Barker, was arrested at Wilmington College in Ohio for allegedly hiding in the ceiling of the women’s soccer team’s locker room and photographing athletes while they were changing. He faces 11 counts of voyeurism after one of the players noticed him and reported it.
The incident occurred on September 22, when college staff apprehended Barker at the Scheve Sports Center. According to information obtained from WXIX-TV, 11 soccer players were in the locker room when a phone appeared from the ceiling, and they noticed a flash. Barker claimed he was reading the Bible on his phone and was not photographing the girls, stating that he sometimes goes into the ceiling to read while at work.
Wilmington Detective Matt Hamilton told WLWT that Barker was able to climb up and move the ceiling tiles. The college’s statement emphasizes that their primary concern is the safety and well-being of students. The college is providing support to the victims and cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation.
Barker was placed in the Clinton County Jail with a bond set at $ 22,000. His court hearing is scheduled for October 5. The investigation is ongoing, and police are considering the possibility of additional charges.
