Recently, there were changes in the Villa on the show Love Island UK, and it is not related to Casa Amor. Just a few days after starting his participation in the ITV program, contestant George Knight left the Villa without explanation—at first. But now fans are getting answers from the reality show participant.
In the episode from June 7, 2026, Lorenzo informed the other contestants that George «left the Villa for personal reasons and will not be returning». Another contestant, Robin, who had previously kissed George, said, «Oh, George, we love you!»
So why did George leave Love Island UK? Here’s what he shared in an interview after leaving the Villa.
Immediately after exiting the show, George took to Instagram to explain his sudden decision, noting in the caption that «family always comes first».
«Leaving the Villa @loveisland was a decision to be with family», - George wrote alongside a photo of himself from Love Island UK. «Out of respect for them, I would prefer not to go into further details. Thank you to everyone who sent kind messages and support! It really means a lot».
In an interview after leaving the Villa with The Sun Showbiz, George recalled the moment when the show’s producers informed him about something important. He noted that producers usually call contestants only to discuss «standard» logistical issues and daily expectations, but this time they had news for him.
«They just said that one of the producers would meet me at the entrance and that they had information for me, and that the heads wanted to see me», - he explained in the interview. «I just went down to see them, and [they] said that my parents had contacted them and that they had news for me, and they were going to call me, and it was very personal».
After the producers gave George some time to talk on the phone, he decided that it was «right to go home» and leave the show immediately.
«It was a matter of the health of a close family member», - George clarified, adding that his parents felt it was their duty to inform him.
