SNL participant Devon Walker is leaving the show after three seasons

Studio 8H underwent a cast reshuffle at the end of August 2025 before the premiere of the 51st season. Devon Walker announced his departure from the NBC comedy show three seasons after joining it in 2022 alongside Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kirni, and Michael Longfellow.
On August 25, 2025, Devon confirmed on Instagram that he would not be returning to SNL for the 51st season. He included a screenshot of a computer note, which said, in part: «We and the show spent three years together, and sometimes it was really cool», - Devon began in his statement, which was a screenshot of a note from Text Edit on his computer. «Sometimes it was toxic as hell. But we did our best, even in all the dysfunction. We created a messed up little family».
Devon’s note was titled «wait. did he leave or was he fired?», but it is still unclear whether he left the show of his own accord or was fired.
Devon began his stand-up comedy career in Texas, and he worked on SNL for many years. He was featured in Comedy Central’s «Up Next» show in 2017 and participated in various comedy festivals such as Clusterfest, Moontower Comedy Festival, and Big Sky Comedy Festival, according to The Stand. He moved to New York in 2018 to pursue his comedy dreams. Devon collaborated with Comedy Central during the lockdown in 2020 caused by the coronavirus pandemic, creating sketches for social media, often collaborating with Grace Kulenschmidt.
He also notably collaborated with viral comedian Trevor Wallace on a fake game show for Comedy Central. «The network gave me one (1) episode of my own fake game show and said if enough people watch it, they’ll let me make more», - Devon wrote in the caption of the video where he and Trevor interact. «So if you don’t want me to succeed, DON’T click the link in my profile».
