Teacher from Maryland arrested for child trafficking in Pennsylvania
A high school teacher from Maryland, Rogi Legaspi, is accused of sex trafficking and sexual assault of a teenager in Pennsylvania. He was arrested while attempting to meet with a minor, authorities reported.

According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, Legaspi, who is 56 years old, faces multiple charges, including trafficking minors, 15 counts of involuntary sexual contact, and producing child sexual abuse materials. The charges relate to a period from June 2024 to June 2026, during which he allegedly traveled repeatedly from Maryland to Pennsylvania for sexual encounters with a 15-year-old boy.

According to the criminal case, Chester County detectives began their investigation after receiving information about possible abuse of the boy, with whom Legaspi began communicating when he was 12 years old. The boy reported that Legaspi, whom he knew as «Alex», - initially communicated with him by phone and then began visiting for meetings. Legaspi allegedly gave the teenager money and other items in exchange for sexual services, which he recorded on his phone.

Investigators confirmed Legaspi’s identity and his connection to the teenager through vehicle registration information, automatic license plate readers, hotel stay records, and surveillance footage. He was arrested on September 18 after investigators, posing as the teenager, discussed meeting with him.

Legaspi was detained at the meeting location in Parkesburg. Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe stated that «the defendant coerced the child into sexual contact, facilitated, and attempted to facilitate contact between the victim and other adult men».

After his arrest, Legaspi was placed in Chester County Jail as he was unable to post bail set at $ 5 million. An initial hearing is scheduled for October 19. At the school where he worked, parents were informed that Legaspi had been temporarily suspended from his position following his arrest.
