Teacher Taylor Swift claims that she has always written poetry in class

Taylor Swift wrote poetry long before she became an international pop star. The singer’s teacher, Barbara Kolvak, shared some stories from Taylor’s school days in a new interview with CBS Philadelphia on Saturday, April 20. Two former teachers of Taylor expressed pride in their former student, speaking with a local news agency.
Barbara was Taylor’s music teacher, and has since retired from the education field. Many fans learned about Taylor’s penchant for poetry with the release of her new album The Tortured Poets Department, and the former teacher admitted that the singer «Fornight» has been writing poems since childhood. «She always wrote poetry, always. Even in music class, even when she wasn’t supposed to», - she said with a smile in the CBS Philadelphia interview.
Barbara talked about the gifts Taylor gave her over the years, including a yearly album, a signed t-shirt, and a plush snowman. She confessed that they kept in touch via email for several years as Taylor grew up in the spotlight. She also mentioned an early important event where she helped Taylor. «I gave her her first solo vocal number!» she said. «I feel like I maybe gave her a little spark or support to do what she did».
Since she first performed a solo number, the singer has come a long way. Taylor has released 11 albums, won 14 Grammys, and has many other career achievements, from critical acclaim to high album sales (and concert tours). She is also the first female billionaire whose music is her main source of income.
After all these years, the former teacher admitted that she is still very proud of Taylor. «I would say how proud I am of her and that she never lost sight of her goal and never lost her true essence», - she said. «She has always been very honest and open, and I admire that about her»
