The movie ended on a turning point. After Tally inadvertently betrayed Shay and discovered the Specials, who were forced to undergo cosmetic surgery, Tally sacrifices herself to become Pretty. When she surrenders to city officials, Tally is now transformed, but not without a scar on her hand that connected her to Peris (Chase). The revelation proves that although Tally is now Pretty, she has retained her sense of autonomy and is able to control her mind.
