Donald Gibb, an actor best known for his roles as Ogre in the «Revenge of the Nerds» franchise and Ray Jackson in the film «Bloodsport», - passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 71.

Donald loved the Lord, his family, friends, and fans with all his heart», - his family stated. «Known for his vibrant presence on screen and kindness off it, he brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to many throughout his life and career».
They added, «Above all, Donald cherished his faith and the people he loved. His strength, generosity, and spirit will never be forgotten by those who had the honor of knowing him personally, and by the many fans whose lives he touched over the years. We ask for prayers and respect for our family during this difficult time as we celebrate a life lived with dignity and a legacy that will live on forever. Our father will be greatly missed, and we will always remember him».
Before becoming well-known in Hollywood, Gibb was an athlete and attended the University of New Mexico on a basketball scholarship before transferring to the University of San Diego to play football.
He later earned a spot on the San Diego Chargers team, but a car accident ended his football career and led him to acting.
Gibb became famous for playing the loud and intimidating fraternity brother Ogre in the «Revenge of the Nerds» franchise. This role made him one of the most recognizable character actors of the 1980s and helped turn the comedy into a cult classic. He later reprised this role in several sequels.
Gibb was married to Jacqueline Bauer for over 40 years. He tried to keep his personal life away from the public eye.
In a statement following his death, Gibb’s family referred to him as a «beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and actor». His personal website’s «About Me» page also stated that he was a «devoted father to Moana, Lehua, Travis, Mykkal, and Olivia».
