Frank Fritz was known for his role alongside Mike Wolfe and Danielle Colby in the reality show American Pickers. Since 2010, the late 60-year-old man traveled around the country in search of treasures and other artifacts. However, Frank passed away on September 30, 2024, presumably due to health complications.

Mike honored the memory of his longtime friend and late filming partner in a touching Instagram post.

«I knew Frank for more than half of my life, and what you saw on TV was always what I saw, a dreamer who was as sensitive as he was funny», - Mike wrote. «The same off-camera as on, Frank had a way of touching the hearts of so many, just by being himself. Who would have thought that we would ever share the cab of a white truck in front of millions of people interested in our adventures?»

Mike also recalled how before American Pickers began, he and Frank «would drive together to places we never knew with an undefined destination and just a common desire to discover something interesting and historical».

«We took countless trips and drove so many miles, and I feel blessed to have been by his side when he made his final journey home», - Mike concluded, adding: «I love you, buddy, and I will miss you very much. I know you are in a better place».

According to various sources, Fritz passed away from complications after a stroke while in hospice care. It remains unclear why Frank was hospitalized until his death.

This was not the first time Frank had a stroke. In a 2022 Instagram post, Mike revealed that his filming partner had suffered a stroke and was hospitalized.

«I was very restrained last year about Frank’s life and the path he had taken», - Mike wrote at the time. «There were many opinions about our friendship with Frank and the show, but now is not the time to clarify the situation. Now is the time to pray for my friend. Frank had a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts».

A year earlier, Frank told The U.S. Sun about his battle with alcoholism and managing Crohn’s disease. At the time, the reality star was focused on weight control and had stopped drinking alcohol.

«Weight loss is what I eat to control my disease as best as possible», - he said. «I just eat healthy food. Over time, I started paying attention to what I do and started walking more. I do quite a bit here, taking care of the grass and getting rid of weeds. … Not drinking helps with weight loss because when you drink, you eat. I’m not on a diet. I drank a little too, but that didn’t work either».

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation in the digestive tract.
