Taylor Wily, known for his roles in the series «Hawaii Five-0» and «Forgetting Sarah Marshall», - has passed away. He was 56 years old. Executive producer of «Hawaii Five-0» Peter M. Lenkov confirmed this news in several Instagram posts on Thursday, June 20.
«T, as I’ve told you many times, I fell in love with you from the first audition», - Peter wrote in one of the captions, alongside a video montage of memories with Taylor. «You came in with a towel on your head, wiping sweat, and I was charmed. You charmed me to make you a regular … on the show … and in my life. You were family. And I will miss you every day, brother».
Peter then revealed in his caption that he had spoken to Taylor just a week before his death.
«PS: when we talked last week, we laughed at how right you and I were from day one. Hawaii Five-0 was our dream job», - the producer added. «And I am so lucky that we were able to share this magic together».
Peter continued in a separate Instagram post, sharing a photo of the two of them. The image, apparently, was taken on the set of the dramatic series.
«I am devastated. Heartbroken», - Peter wrote, adding, «I will post more detailed feelings later. Right now, it’s just too hard».
Taylor played the character Kamekona Tupuola in 171 episodes of «Hawaii Five-0». He also played this role in the series «MacGyver» and «Magnum P.I». At the beginning of his acting career, Taylor appeared in the film «Forgetting Sarah Marshall» as a hotel employee.
Before starting his acting career, Taylor participated in sumo wrestling, UFC fights, and MMA.
Taylor is survived by his wife Halona and two children
