French actress Nadia Farès, best known for her role in the film «The Crimson Rivers» and with a long career in French and international cinema, passed away at the age of 57. She was found unconscious in a pool in Paris on April 11 and died a few days later, on April 17, after a heart attack caused by a coma.

«With great sadness, we announce the death of Nadia Farès this Friday», - said a statement from her daughters, released through the France-Presse agency. «France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is primarily the loss of a mother».

Nadia Farès was born on December 20, 1968, in Marrakech, Morocco, and moved to France at a young age, where she grew up. She later moved to Paris to pursue acting and began her career in the early 1990s.

Farès worked in film and television for over three decades, starting with her debut in the film «My Wife’s Friends» in 1992. She became well-known for her role in «The Crimson Rivers» and later appeared in international projects such as «War» with Jet Li and Jason Statham, as well as the horror film «Storm Warning». She also starred in the Netflix series «Marseille» from 2016 to 2018.

In 2002, Farès married American producer Steve Chasman and later moved to the U.S. during their marriage. The couple separated in 2022, after which she returned to France.

Farès is survived by her two daughters, Cilia and Shana, who paid tribute to their mother after her death.

Cilia posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing: «This is a broken heart that I will never be able to overcome. Every day I wake up and pray that this is a nightmare and that you are still with us. I know you fought with all your strength for your children. Thank you. Thank you for the fight, thank you for life, thank you for every memory, thank you for the laughter, for the tears».

Farès openly spoke about her health issues, revealing that she underwent brain surgery in 2007 due to a serious aneurysm, and then had three heart surgeries over the next four years.
