Three days before her death, Caliente underwent a leg amputation due to a «serious health complication», - as her family wrote in a statement on Instagram in April 2025. They did not disclose the specific infection she was diagnosed with.
«The family of Bianca Castro, known to many as beloved drag performer Jiggly Caliente, sadly announces that over the past month Bianca has experienced a serious health complication», - the statement read. «Due to a severe infection, she was hospitalized and as a result, lost a significant portion of her right leg. Due to these circumstances, Bianca will not be participating in the upcoming season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines, and will also not be attending any public events in the near future».
Caliente’s family noted that her recovery was expected to be «lengthy».
The official cause of Caliente’s death was not disclosed. However, she passed away just three days after the operation.
