Dame Maggie Smith passed away at the age of 89, her sons Chris Larkin and Toby Stevens announced in a statement on Friday, September 27.

Known for her iconic roles as Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter film series and Violet Crawley, Countess of Grantham in the series «Downton Abbey», - Smith leaves behind a remarkable legacy after eight decades in the acting industry. In addition to her professional achievements, originally from London, she raised her two sons, Larkin and Stevens, from her first husband, English actor Sir Robert Stevens, who also found success in film and television and started their own families.

Maggie left behind five grandchildren, and here is all you need to know about them.

Maggie’s eldest son, born in 1967, has two children with his wife Suki Stevens: Daisy Grace Stevens and Nathaniel Stevens.

Daisy was born in July 2006, a year after Chris and Suki’s wedding, followed by Nathaniel, who arrived in December 2008. Although Chris usually tries to stay out of the spotlight, he occasionally hints at his family on his limited Instagram account, showcasing moments like Nathaniel enjoying football as a fan of Athletic Club Bilbao, based in Spain.

Maggie’s second child, Toby, has three children with his wife Anna-Louise Plowman, an actress from New Zealand.

They have a son, Elijah Alister Stevens, born in 2007, and two daughters, Tallulah Tara and Kura Stevens, born in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Like his older brother Chris, Toby usually prefers to keep a low profile, but occasionally shares insights about his children in the past.

In 2009, Toby shared that his mother had mixed feelings about the name Tallulah. He told The Telegraph: «She remembered Tallulah Bankhead, a Hollywood actress of some renown. 'I like the name, of course, but you have to understand she was a very naughty woman,' she told me. 'She was addicted to cocaine and had, among other things, a huge lesbian following'».

And in 2014, while filming the series «Black Sails» on Starz, Toby shared what a «perfect Sunday» looks like for him: spending time with his family at home. He told Express: «I've spent a lot of time abroad recently, shooting in South Africa, so coming back here — fantastic. After a long period away, reuniting with the family is very grounding. On set, you tend to have tunnel vision and think that work is everything, especially with the pressure of a big production. So it’s very good to come back to parental routine and remind yourself that there are other things in the world that are far more important»
