Shirley Rains, known as Miss Shirley and the founder of the organization Beauty 2 The Streetz, left behind children. The 58-year-old social media personality passed away in January 2026, leaving family and friends in shock from the unexpected news. Her nonprofit organization confirmed the loss in a tribute posted on her Instagram account on January 28, 2026.
«With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, Beauty 2 The Streetz announces the passing of our beloved CEO and founder, Shirley Rains, whom many knew as Miss Shirley», - the post read. «Miss Shirley dedicated her life to serving others and made an invaluable impact on homeless communities in Los Angeles and Nevada».
The organization’s statement continued: «Through her tireless advocacy, deep compassion, and unwavering dedication, she used her powerful media platform to amplify the voices of those in need and bring dignity, resources, and hope to the most marginalized populations».
The organization described the loss as «devastating for the entire Beauty 2 The Streetz team» and promised to preserve Shirley’s legacy.
Shirley was the founder of Beauty 2 The Streetz and a social media content creator known for her generosity towards the homeless. She began her work in 2017 and became a TikTok star with her cheerful demeanor as she greeted homeless individuals in Los Angeles—primarily on Skid Row—and Las Vegas, offering them food and clothing.
Shirley left behind six children, one of whom went to her home in Henderson, Nevada, to call authorities for a welfare check on January 27, 2026, Shirley’s sister, Sheila, reported.
Sheila told the publication that Shirley’s youngest daughter wanted to visit her and had been calling constantly but received no response from her mother. The daughter then went to her home and «waited and waited» for Shirley to answer, even throwing stones at her window.
Authorities later found Shirley «unresponsive», - lying on her side in bed, Sheila reported. She added that there were no «obvious signs» explaining her sudden death.
Shirley had not publicly mentioned having a spouse or partner
