Tropical cyclone No. 9 has turned into Hurricane Helen and is set to hit the west coast of Florida on Thursday, September 26. It is forecasted that Helen will become a Category 3 hurricane.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released a statement through X on Wednesday, September 25, writing: «Tropical Storm Helen, forming now, is forecasted to strengthen. As always, Florida will prepare for the worst and hope for the best. We have nearly 18,000 line workers in position (and more on the way), and we are ready with search and rescue and road clearing».

Evacuation zones for Pinellas County, Florida, can be found through «Know Your Zone». Designated zones in Pinellas County include Pinellas Park, Kenneth City, Bay Pines, Harbor Bluffs, and various mobile homes in the region.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, residents of the county received a warning stating: «A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for Evacuation Zone A and all mobile homes in Pinellas County».
Manatee County also issued evacuation orders for residents living in Zone A. The county provides an online tool for residents to find emergency shelters and other information
