Hurricane Milton threatens the state of Florida. As residents evacuate and businesses close, many are preparing for what could be the strongest storm in the Sunshine State in decades. But preparation has not been easy. While people try to leave for other areas or states, some cannot find gas stations with enough fuel. Residents of Orlando are struggling to find an open gas station to fill their cars.
Any resident of Orlando can find local gas stations with fuel, electricity, both, or neither using this tracker. According to GasBuddy data on Tuesday, October 8, 14 percent of gas stations in Orlando and Daytona Beach did not have fuel.
Orlando is located in Orange County, which is not among the counties where mandatory evacuations have been declared. However, Hurricane Milton will pass directly through the city.
According to The New York Times, evacuation orders have been issued for the following counties: Seminole, Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, DeSoto, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Levy, Manatee, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, and St. Johns.
In a statement published on its website, Disneyland noted that it is «closely monitoring the path of the predicted storm, and the safety of [its] guests and employees remains [a] priority».
«Looking ahead, we are making adjustments based on the latest weather forecast and some areas with unique environments», - the statement read. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will temporarily close at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground and Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will remain closed until Sunday, October 13, while Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge «are likely to reopen on Friday, October 11».
Disney also noted that its Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom theme parks will close at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, while Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney Springs will close at 2:00 p.m. on that day.
WDW noted on October 8 that «theme parks are likely to remain closed on Thursday, October 10», - and that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom is canceled on October 10. Tickets for the event will be refunded to guests.
