Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s chief aide, Josh Kettler, reportedly resigned just three months after his appointment.

Kettler, based in Santa Barbara, joined the Sussex team in early May, just a week before Harry and Meghan’s trip to Nigeria. He was attracted earlier this year with the confidence that he was the perfect candidate to «lead» Harry in the next phase. However, the decision to part ways was mutual, with both sides agreeing that it ultimately wasn’t the right choice.

The Daily Mail reported that Kettler was supposed to accompany the couple on their upcoming four-day «quasi-royal tour» of Colombia, which is set to begin on Thursday.

Francia Marquez, the Vice President of Colombia and the first black woman to hold this position, announced that the former royal couple will visit the country, with planned stops in Bogota, Cartagena, and Cali.

«As Vice President of Colombia and Minister for Equality and Justice, I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country», - Marquez said in a statement.

This trip to South America will be the second official international visit for Prince Harry and Meghan since they settled in California in 2020.

«In these picturesque places, they will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women embodying the ambitions and voices of Colombians focused on progress», - Marquez added. «In addition to these significant interactions, the Duke and Duchess will get to know Colombia’s rich heritage».

Before working with the Duke and Duchess, Kettler served as Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Partnerships at the communications platform Cognixion. He also spent over ten years working at the outdoor clothing company Patagonia and a year at Better Place Forests in San Francisco. On LinkedIn, he describes himself as an «experienced executive accelerator, organizer, and trusted confidant», - as well as a «steadfast advocate for nature and the environment».

Prince Harry and Meghan have faced difficulties in finding suitable staff. The Daily Mail claimed that they lost at least 18 employees since their wedding in 2018, with nine or more leaving after the couple’s move to the US.

«Perhaps most importantly, in all the time I worked there, I don’t think I heard a single current or former staff member of their staff say they would take the job again if given the chance», - said a former employee to the publication.

«These weren’t employees they just found on the street», - continued the former employee. «Many of them are people who had previously excelled working for demanding bosses in high-performance companies and in highly competitive environments»
