Clem Burke, the legendary drummer, best known for his involvement in the pioneering New Wave rhythm group Blondie, has passed away at the age of 70, a representative of the group confirmed.

«We express our deepest condolences to Clem’s family, friends, and fans around the world», - the group wrote in a statement posted on Instagram. «His legacy will live on through the vast amount of music he created and the countless lives he touched. As we mourn this profound loss, we ask for privacy during this difficult time».

A tribute to his memory was left by «Speed, Dr. Burke» from his group mates Debbie Harry and Chris Stein, on behalf of the entire Blondie family.
